Bert went to a Top Division Men 1 game in Fleurus, Belgium on Nov. 20th, 2015: CEP Fleurus vs. KBBC Oostkamp

You need two good teams to get a nice basketball game. And that is exactly what attendees at the Salle Andre Robert got on Nov. 20th, 2015 indeed... It was also a nice occasion to discover the new CEP point guard Seidou Njoya (1.88 m, born in 1989) who already showed all his talent and skills against a very well-balanced team of KBBC Oostkamp. Seidou Njoya quickly tried to boost his new team in the first quarter by hitting a three-pointer and giving some nice assists to his mates. Nevertheless, the very athletic visitors responded well especially via Cedric Berquin (1.98 m, forward, born in 1989), Arno Vandewalle (born in 1995) and young British prospect Jordan Williams (2.02 m, forward, born in 1995). Jordan Williams and his mates stayed in the race through the whole first half. CEP Fleurus of Coach Tony van den Bosch played very well in the third quarter and, mainly thanks to a superb Kevin Jonniaux (1.98m, power forward, born in 1983), looked able to dig the gap.
 
After 61-54, the home squad had to play tough in defense to avoid a last courageous KBBCO rush. Great plays by Seidou Njoya (although he should sometimes be more selective in taking some shots) also gave more confidence to the whole CEP squad. A spectacular defensive play (a block shot) by CEP Captain Christian Ilongo (1.94 m, forward, born in 1985) gave some fresh air to the home team in the last minutes of the game. KBBCO was unable to come back afterwards and the hard work displayed by all CEPmen eventually paid off on Friday Nov. 20th, 2015.

EuroMillions League - Round Six: Proximus Spirou Charleroi defeats BC Telenet Oostende after strong finish in a thrilling Belgian "Clásico"!

Bert and his son attended the Proximus Spirou Charleroi vs. BC Telenet Oostende basketball game at the Spiroudome on Oct. 28th, 2016. The one and only Belgian basketball "Clásico"! They could not have been better seated, at first row right behind the bench of BC Oostende . Nice to follow the speeches, mood swings and pep talks of BCO 's Croatian Coach Dario Gjergja during timeouts! Around 5,000 people attended this excellent basketball game in Charleroi, Belgium.   Serbian forward Marko Keselj (age 28, 2.06 m) and Belgium's national team member Pierre-Antoine Gillet (age 25, 2.01 m), both injured, were unavailable for BC Oostende and the three Belgian international players Kevin Tumba (age 25, 2.06 m), Loic Schwartz (age 23, 1.95 m) and Ioann Iarochevitch (age 27, 2.06 m), on the injured list for Spirou , did not play in the game.   The home side started slowly and did several mistakes in defense, allowing BC Oostende to take the lead in the fi

NCAA basketball - 2016-17 berthoop.net Men's All-America Team and last review (May 2017)

The 2016-17 NCAA basketball season is now over. The 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament ended with a nice win of Head Coach Roy Williams '  North Carolina Tar Heels who defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs 71-65 in the championship game played at the University of Phoenix Stadium , Glendale, AZ on 2017-04-03. Just like every year, Bert was asked by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association ( USBWA ) to select up to 10 All-America players (regardless of position).
